Limitations
The Inner Temple Admissions Database project is not completed: data entry and amendment are continuing. The full database currently covers members admitted from 1547 to 1850. There are plans to extend it but, in the meanwhile, enquiries concerning admissions from 1851 should be referred to the archivist.
The Inner Temple Archives does not hold information relating to the professional careers (e.g. court cases) or personal lives (e.g. marriage and children) of members
The Inns of Court did not admit women as members until after The Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act of 1919.
It is unlikely that further biographical details about members included in the database will be found in the Inner Temple Archives although they may be available elsewhere.
Archive Enquiries: Please address all database enquiries to the archivist.
