Why Join the Inner Temple?

    • Financial Support: £1,040,000 awarded each year in Scholarships and Exhibitions to CPE and BVC students. We are the only Inn to guarantee automatic funding in the BVC year for recipients of our CPE awards.  We also, numbers permitting, interview all BVC Scholarship applicants.
    • Quality Training: we offer a variety of Qualifying Sessions to students during their BVC year including advocacy training, lectures and residential weekends on legal topics.
    • Support for Students: we have a number of schemes and societies for students including a mentoring scheme; the opportunity to shadow a police officer; marshalling with a judge; and very active Social, Debating, Mooting and Drama Societies.
    • Support for Students Studying Outside of London: we are aware of more and more students studying outside of London - we arrange some Qualifying Sessions outside of London but also agree dates with BVC providers to allow students to come to the Inn for specialist Education Days.
    • Continuing Professional Development: we provide members with training from the BVC year through pupillage and throughout their careers, specialising in the teaching of advocacy and ethics.  As a recent report by the Advocacy Training Council stated: "Those in charge of advocacy training at the Inner Temple are among the most experienced trainers at the Bar".
    • A dedicated and friendly Education & Training Dept: please get in touch!
