TEMPLE GARDEN

The Inner Temple garden is one of London's most attractive open spaces and is normally open to the public on week days between 12.30pm and 3pm.

The three-acre garden comprises an extensive lawn and also has a number of distinctive and horticulturally-interesting plants and trees, including our own Inner Temple Rose, a magnificent example of the Catalpa or Indian Bean Tree, a fine Black Walnut and a border planted with alternating Rosa Alba and Rosa Gallica Officinalis representing the War of the Roses.

The garden is cared for by Miss Andrea Brunsendorf and her team of gardeners with the help of Volunteers.

Garden Plan
Garden PlanThe Inner Temple commissioned a special plan of the garden by landscape architect Sonia Harrison showing the location of various plants, trees and statuary.

To view the plan online, click here and wait until it is fully loaded. The plan includes a number of hyperlinks to larger images and detailed information on the associated trees and plants.

What about a spot of Gardening?

The Inner Temple Gardeners are looking for hands-on volunteers to help the Inn to prepare and transform the garden for next year's 400th Anniversary. If you are interested in lending a hand during the week then please contact the Head Gardener, Andrea Brunsendorf.
