Please note that ITDS’s calendar may be a little different this year due to restrictions. Please follow one of our social media sites to keep up to date with what the society is doing and how you can be involved. On a usual year, the ITDS calendar is:
Membership Services & Support
- Communication Preferences
- Childcare at the Bar
Fortnightly during term time
Our evening improvisation classes are a great way to have fun with members of ITDS. Join us for an evening of improvisation games.
At The Inner Temple
Beginning of December
Each year, ITDS puts on a production before the Christmas holidays (oh yes it does!). From Little Red Riding Hood to Mother Goose, the ITDS pantomime is always a fun event in the calendar. Bringing together actors, singers, dancers, musicians, a production team, backstage crew and even Inner Temple Benchers, the pantomime is a great way to get started with ITDS. This year, we are hoping to put together something a little different so watch this space!
At The Bridewell Theatre
A Shakespeare Battle! Want to help to prove that Inner Temple has the best drama society? Join us for a battle against Middle Temple with only one weapon…. Shakespeare! In one evening, we face Middle Temple with a condensed Shakespeare production.
In the Inner Temple Gardens
Edinburgh Fringe Show
For the first time this year, we secured funding from the Inn to take a piece of new writing to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and the cancellation of the Festival, we were unable to take our show this summer. However, we have secured the theatre for next year and look forward to our 2021 show!
In Edinburgh, Scotland
History Society Show
ITDS are sometimes asked to put on a production for the History Society. ITDS perform excerpts from a historical play interspersed with commentary by academics.
At The Temple Church
ITDS also do a variety of one-off shows, including readings of plays and improvisation shows where the opportunities arise!
