The Inner Temple is one of the four Inns of Court (the others are Middle Temple, Gray’s Inn and Lincoln’s Inn), which hold the exclusive right to Call candidates to practise law at the Bar of England and Wales. The Inn plays a central role in the recruitment, training and professional life of our members, who are primarily students, barristers and judges. The Inn provides continuing legal education after qualification and other services for members. The Inn’s estate consists of historical buildings, many which are listed and sit within The Temple’s conservation area. The Inn hosts numerous events throughout the year and our estate is also a sought-after filming location.

Vacancy: Head Porter (live-in)

The Inn has a vacancy for a live-in Head Porter who will share shift work with two Deputy Porters to assume responsibility for the management of security of the Inner Temple estate, protection of artefacts, heritage assets and Temple Church.  You will be responding to all emergencies within our grounds, monitoring access during social and official functions and remaining on call during quiet hours.

This role would suit SNCO/WO equivalent from one of the Services with a good Service record or someone who has completed similar service time as a Police Officer.

Applicants should be SIA qualified and have experience in CCTV and Access control systems. You should also knowledge in reporting and emergency response planning. Line Management experience is essential, so too is having a flexible and positive approach to solve issues.
