Inner Temple Hardship Funds

Financial Assistance for our Pupils and First Year Practitioners

The Executive Committee has authorised a fund to alleviate the hardship experienced by pupils and very junior practitioners who are not eligible for the Government scheme for the self-employed. The application process and loans and grants awarded will be administered by the Inn’s existing hardship fund, the Marshall Hall Trust.

Financial Assistance for our Practitioners with Pre-COVID Trading Profits Between £50,000 And £70,000

The Inn’s Executive Committee has also approved a Scheme to provide financial assistance to those members of the Inn whose practices have suffered substantially by reason of the COVID-19 crisis and its effects on the operation of the Courts, but whose previous pre-tax trading profits were in the bracket £50,000 - £70,000, and who are thus outside the terms of SEISS.

Financial Assistance for the Bar Generally

The four Inns have worked together to support an appeal for funding for the Barrister’s Benevolent Association, each committing substantial sums of money to support members of the Bar who will be in distressed financial circumstances as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.
