The Inner Temple wishes to appoint a new Trainee Gardener.

The Inner Temple is one of the most distinguished gardens in London. Located on the Embankment in the City of London, the award-winning gardens comprise courtyards, borders, trees, lawns and public spaces over three acres within the historic estate of this Inn of Court. The succession planting in its deep herbaceous borders have won widespread praise, and its reputation attracts visitors from around the world.

The successful applicant will already have begun to pursue a career in ornamental horticulture and will be seeking the advertised position to extend and finesse their ornamental horticultural knowledge. The Trainee will study off site towards RHS Level 3 whilst working hands on in all areas of the garden, enjoying the advantages of working and learning from a small team of qualified gardeners and volunteers.

This post would suit someone with six to twelve months' professional experience, who has excellent communication skills and has already completed an RHS Level 2 horticultural qualification and wants to take their studies and skills to the next level. The successful candidate will be keen to develop their skills and experience in a garden which is open to the public and maintained to high aesthetic and horticultural standards.

This post offers an opportunity to join an enthusiastic team in a busy and vibrant garden. Annual salary £19,641.94 per annum for an initial contract of 12 months, to be extended by a further 12 months on successful passing of the first year.
