Directed by Nikolas Clarke with a glorious programme of Bach and Handel performed by The Bar Musical Society Orchestra and The St Genesius Choir, this concert will be performed in the historic Inner Temple Hall.

The Bar Musical Society has been running for more than sixty years.  Its aim is to promote the love and appreciation of music by student members of the Inns, barristers and Judges.  There are three or four concerts each year (held in the Inns or nearby) usually given by professional musicians.  The concerts are followed by supper, creating the opportunity to meet like-minded students, barristers and Judges in an informal environment.

The St Genesius Choir celebrates its tenth anniversary this year.  It was founded by fellow barristers Nikolas Clarke (director) and Pippa Alderson (soprano).   Originally created as a one-off for a colleague’s wedding, the choir was such a success that it decided to keep singing and establish itself fully to perform at other events, concerts and church services. The members of St Genesius are all talented singers and musicians who also sing with other leading choirs – from the London Philharmonic Choir and London Symphony Chorus to small chamber groups – but who have chosen to follow other careers such as law, accountancy, design and teaching.  They sing for pleasure and their love of choral music.

There will be an interval at this performance.
