The Council of the Inns of Court (COIC), on behalf of all four Inns, welcomes the publication of Baroness Harman’s review and thanks her and her team for the considerable amount of detailed work that has gone into this report.
Independent Review of Bullying and Harassment at the Bar
COIC have already initiated work with the Inns to consider carefully the recommendations made in the report, and make changes as appropriate. All four Inns of Court have a zero tolerance approach to any form of bullying, harassment or sexual harassment and have robust procedures in place to prevent it and then to take action when complaints are received. The Inns will be reviewing these policies and procedures in light of the recommendations made in this report.
