Membership Services & Support

The Inn is dedicated to supporting each of our members, professionally and otherwise.

Our Scholarships help well over 100 new members a year undertake the BPTC and GDL courses. The Pegasus Scholarship Trust helps barristers further their career by experiencing practise in overseas jurisdictions. The Marshall Hall Trust exists to help barristers who are undergoing financial hardship.

Get Involved

The Inn is run by the profession, for the profession. We rely on the willingness of our members to dedicate time and effort to supporting the many education and training activities and programmes we offer.

From scholarship interviews to advocacy teacher training, demystifying school students’ preconceptions about a career in the law or helping to deliver the largest programme of vulnerable witness handling ever undertaken, our members make us what we are. If you are interested in volunteering, or perhaps getting involved in one of the Inn's societies, have a look at the activities on offer.

Supporting our Members

We don’t just help financially. Alongside the other Inns and the Bar Council, we support the Wellbeing at the Bar programme, which seeks to promote physical and mental wellbeing in the profession. We support student and bar societies ranging from drama to sports. We have a wide range of schemes to support access into the profession.
