  • Soft strip / Demolition to all floors internally
  • Demolition of existing Flat roof structures
  • Press mouldings of the existing Hall cornice detailing being taken
  • Careful removal of the Hall ceiling
  • Asbestos removal
  • Forming new structural openings and installing temporary works supports on all floors
  • Enabling works for the crane on the South terrace
  • Internal scaffold crash deck within library to facilitate roof demolition
  • Demolition of existing slab and adjacent walls to facilitate the formation of a new lift pit in the north façade lightwell
  • Installing concrete supports for new structural steelwork above hall
  • Installation of final banner sections (9 November 2019)

Mitigation Measures

  • Installation of Noise Reducing Acoustic Blankets:
    • At door openings
    • At all windows locations
    • Above the works in the lightwell
  • Works to be undertaken during Noisy Hours only
  • Hand tools will be used to demolish the walls, as far as reasonably
    practicable.
