Bibi Badejo will be joined by Annette Henry KC, a Wellbeing Consultant, Life Coach and a founder of Owning Your Wellbeing. She has built a unique career at the intersection of law and wellbeing. The conversation will explore the distinctive stresses of life at the bar, from the constant “fight or flight” state to the isolation of court work and the challenges that arise at different career stages. Whether it’s the struggle to establish credibility in the first ten years or the post-silk anxiety of maintaining reputation, Annette brings deep insight into the realities barristers face. Expect candid reflections, practical tools, and a refreshing discussion about how legal professionals can reclaim their wellbeing and perform at their best in practice and in life. As a former competitive diver she knows the value of investing in mental fitness as much as in physical fitness.
Bibi Badejo is a family law barrister at 4PB, a Bencher of Inner Temple, and an internationally recognised advocacy trainer. Alongside her court practice, she hosts The Advocacy Podcast and founded The Advocacy Coach, helping legal professionals worldwide sharpen their advocacy skills.
Annette Henry is a Human Givens (HG) Consultant, qualified psychotherapist, HG.Dip.P, MHGI and Kings Counsel. She practiced at the criminal Bar and developed a specialism in mental health law within the criminal justice system over her many years in practice. She wrote a practitioner’s guide to mental health, worked with the Mental Health Act Commission and presided over Mental Health Review Tribunals. Her practical experience at the Bar, and as a competitive sportswoman, makes her uniquely well placed to provide guidance and practical advice to those who wish to cultivate and maintain good mental health and wellbeing whilst thriving in practice.
This event will take place in person at the Inn, and will be followed by a drinks reception.
