Alive! Nationwide is a groundbreaking new, not-for-profit organisation that helps victims of Domestic Abuse and in particular works with post graduate law students and law firms to obtain protective injunctions.
This allows societies most vulnerable people to have their case dealt with speedily (in Court within 24 hours) and have a trained Law Student to accompany them into the Court Room as a McKenzie Friend.
The organisation is urgently looking for Law Students and/or those awaiting Pupillage to assist them in taking victims statements and complete Court paperwork. There is also the opportunity to attend Court as a McKenzie Friend. This can give speedy and unparalleled real life Court Room experience.
All of the work can be carried out from home using a secure telephone handset that we will supply. Full training will be given with full ongoing support provided.
Each applicant is interviewed about both the Law and also the psychological impacts on Domestic abuse.
You will be asked for two references who we liaise with prior to starting.
All law students are fully supervised.
Any McKenzie Friends dealing with Children Act applications with will be DBS checked.
Should any students like to stay on, Alive! Nationwide are offering three 6 months placements.
