Assistant Librarian (Training)

The Assistant Librarian (Training) is a new role and will be responsible for designing, organising and delivering the Library training output for members and library staff (with appropriate support).

This post also plays a key role in the provision of general library and legal enquiry services as part of the Enquiry Desk Rota.  The post manages a Senior Library Assistant.

What we need

A qualified Librarian with proven experience of working in a legal information setting, demonstrable experience of delivering presentations, information skills sessions, and legal research training. A detailed knowledge of hardcopy and online legal information resources for England and Wales and knowledge of or willingness to learn about legal research tools and resources in other jurisdictions are essential. 

The successful applicant to work 35 hours per week during our operational hours, this will include occasional evening and Saturday weekend shifts (dependant on training schedule in place).

About us:

The Inner Temple Library is a legal reference library, which dates back to 1506.  It supports the information and research requirements of barrister, student and judicial members of the four Inns.  The Library is not open to the general public.

What we offer:

Salary is £43,978 per annum, hybrid working, a generous non-contributory pension benefit, free lunches at work when the Inn’s kitchens are open, a taxed daily luncheon allowance provided when they are closed, season ticket loan or Cycle to Work scheme after passing probation and 25 days’ annual leave.
