The Inner Temple deplores the Chinese government sanctions against several British lawyers investigating alleged human rights violations against the Uyghur Muslim people, including Sir Geoffrey Nice QC and Baroness Helena Kennedy QC. This is an attack on freedom of speech and the rule of law, and is in conflict with the UN Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers.
