It is with much regret that we report that Master Wingate-Saul (Giles Wingate-Saul QC) sadly died on Tuesday 7 September, aged 76. The Inn’s flag will fly at half-mast tomorrow, Thursday 9 September, in his memory.
Master Wingate-Saul was called to the Bar in 1967 and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1983. Prior to his retirement, he had a Manchester-based civil and commercial practice. Under his chairmanship, The Northern Circuit Commercial Bar Association was established in 1996.
Master Wingate-Saul was elected as a Governing Bencher of the Inn in 1993. He was much involved in the Inn’s life on circuit, particularly the Highgate House student residential weekends.
