It is with much regret that we report that Master Elfer (His Honour David Elfer QC) sadly died on Tuesday 31 March aged 78. The Inn’s flag will fly at half-mast on Tuesday, 7 April, in his memory.
Master Elfer was called to the Bar in 1964 and practiced at 1 Paper Buildings. He was a Recorder from 1978-1996, appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1981, and became a Circuit Judge at Southwark Crown Court in 1996. Master Elfer was elected a Bencher of the Inn in 1989.
A Service of Thanksgiving will be held later in the year and details will be circulated as appropriate in due course.
