With much regret we write to inform you that, very sadly and unexpectedly, Master Mitchell (His Honour David Mitchell) died on Thursday 6 June 2024.

Master Mitchell was called to the Bar by Inner Temple in 1972. He was appointed as a Recorder in 1993 and became a Circuit Judge in 2001. He was appointed as Designated Civil Judge for Kent in 2003 and then as Designated Civil Judge for London in 2007. 

Master Mitchell was appointed as a Judicial Governing Bencher in 2014, in which capacity he served the Inn with dedication and enthusiasm. The Inn's flag flew at half-mast in his memory on Friday 14 June.
