Lamb Building and Keating Chambers Summer School

An invaluable event for aspiring legal professionals; the free, virtual Summer School, is hosted in collaboration with Lamb Building. Now in it's 4th year, the Lamb Building and Keating Chambers Summer School offers a unique opportunity for students to learn about life at the Bar practicing both Criminal and Civil law, from tenants and pupils at two different specialist sets. As well as learning what it is like to practice in these areas, other sessions will cover pupillage applications, interview skills, advocacy and  life as a pupil.

Who Can Apply

The Summer School is open to LLB as well as final year non-law undergraduate students, GDL and Bar Course students, and those who have completed their studies who have an interest in Commercial, Criminal, or Civil Law.

How to Apply

Applications to join the Summer School must be made via our ONLINE APPLICATION FORM, by no later than 27 June 2025.

We would be delighted to see as many interested students as possible, so please circulate this to all eligible individuals if you can.

Feedback from Last Year

"The Summer School was excellent. Thank you to everyone who organised it and to all the barristers who gave up their time to provide us with such helpful insight and advice on the Bar and attaining pupillage."

"I really enjoyed the Summer School. The sessions were engaging, varied and informative. Thanks to Keating and Lamb Building, I have a list of actionable advice I will draw on for the upcoming pupillage application round."

"The Summer School has been the most useful and insightful event I have been to thus far. I have attended multiple pupillage question and answer panels but none were as informative as the Summer School."

"All of the panellists were professional, relatable and very encouraging. It is easy to feel overwhelmed by the prospect of having to secure mini-pupillages and pupillages and the panellists provided some very useful personal tips and guidance."

"The Summer School was most helpful, particularly the Q&A's."
