Sir Michael Morland

Sir Michael Morland interviewed by Alison Grant 21 November 2017.

Sir Michael Morland KC was called to the Bar in 1953. Before his legal career Sir Michael served as a Second Lieutenant in the Grenadier Guards in 1948-1949 in Malaysia. His  illustrious career began on the Northern Circuit: where he was appointed a Recorder. He became Queen's Counsel in 1972 and was elected a Bencher of the Inn in 1979. He served as a High Court Judge from 1989 until 2004, when he retired.

Alison Grant grew up in North Wales and was called to the Bar in 2012. She currently works as a Deputy Director for the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC). 

The Interview covers Master Morland's time as a student at the Inn, his experience on the Northern Circuit, the Northern Irish troubles and the changes he has witnessed at the Inn since his Call to the Bar.
