His Honour Donald Cryan (Hon) LLD interviewed by Caroline Daly 12 July 2017.

His Honour Donald Cryan was called to the Bar in 1970, was appointed Circuit Judge on the South Eastern Circuit in 1996 and currently works as a Deputy Circuit Judge. He has taken a special interest in legal history, chairing the Selden Society and the Inn’s History Society. Master Cryan was elected as a Bencher in 1992 and Treasurer in 2016.

Caroline Louise Daly was called to the Bar in 2013. She is a member of Francis Taylor Building and specialises in Planning Law, having represented Countryside Properties, boroughs, and corporations. She was declared the 3^rd highest rated barrister in Planning under the age of 35 in 2022.

The interview covers Master Cryan’s experiences as a student, historic discrimination and changes at the Inn in terms of the diversity of representation, the dining experience, pupillage and the Rawlinson Reforms, his career at the Inn and activities as Treasurer and his work on Project Pegasus.
