Pupil Supervisors Training

A three-hour training course for barristers who are:

  • Supervising a pupil for the first time

  • Renewing their training after five years

The course meets the outcomes required by the Bar Standards Board (BSB).

What the Course Covers

Small-group discussions

The first session uses practical scenarios that pupil supervisors may face. Participants discuss how to respond and share good practice.

Separate discussion groups are available for:

  • New pupil supervisors
  • Refresher trainees

 

Expert talks

The second session includes short presentations on:

  • Wellbeing during pupillage
  • Equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI)
  • BSB requirements and recent updates
  • Effective pupil supervision
  • Feedback from recent pupils

Questions and discussion are encouraged throughout.

Inner Temple
