Once a year, the Inn runs a teacher training weekend where barristers of over 7 years' practice can become qualified advocacy trainers. To assist with the weekend, we ask for volunteers from more junior members of the Inn to take part in advocacy exercises, in order that the trainee trainers can offer an advocacy reviews using the Hampel method. This is a method used on our post-call training course to provide feedback on advocacy performances.
The course is a unique opportunity to gain detailed feedback on your advocacy whilst spending the day with our future advocacy trainers. You will need to prepare some simple examinations-in-chief/cross-examinations/closing speeches in advance of the course.
n.b. The Saturday session is currently at capacity, but spaces are still available for the Sunday.
This event is invitation only.
