Professor Philippa Webb KC, Twenty Essex
Master Valerie Amos and Master Karen Pierce will discuss their respective experiences in the UN and diplomacy, examining opportunities and shortcomings from the perspective of a political leader and a civil servant. They will be joined by Professor Philippa Webb KC, a leading public international law barrister and scholar and specialist in relation to the International Court of Justice who has been described as “the foremost expert on state immunity”. Together, our panel will offer thoughts on where the international system should be bolstered and where it needs overhauling to deal effectively with the plethora of geopolitical and global economic challenges that we currently face.
The event will be delivered in person and online. The session will include an opportunity for Q&A and networking.
