Course Dates & Booking

The dates and booking details for our advocacy and ethics courses can be found below.  Our advocacy course provides nine full advocacy hours of CPD, and eight ‘general’ hours of CPD and the ethics course provides three full ethics hours of CPD.

It is not possible to mix and match between sessions from advocacy Course A and Course B.

The NPP is also available to practitioners on Circuit. Details of all Circuits can be found on The Bar Council website.

Advocacy Course A

Course A takes place in April each year, focusing on a forensic accountancy case and is comprised of the following:

 

  • Online Case Conference, Monday 12 or Tuesday 13 April 2027, 6pm-7.45pm.

The online case conference provides an opportunity to pose questions to your expert.

 

  • Residential Weekend, Friday 16 April (6pm) to Sunday 18 April 2027 (1pm)

The weekend involves a series of advocacy exercises using the Advanced Hampel Method.

Advocacy Course B

Course B takes place in June each year, focusing on a medical negligence case and is comprised of the following:

  • Online Case Conference, Monday 21 or Tuesday 22 June 2027, 6pm-7.45pm

The online case conference provides an opportunity to pose questions to your expert.

 

  • Residential Weekend, Friday 25 June (6pm) to Sunday 27 June 2027 (1pm)

The weekend involves a series of advocacy exercises using the Advanced Hampel Method.

Ethics Course

The Ethics Course is divided into four stages and is taught using a combination of independent learning and interactive group sessions. The course is run entirely online.

NPs will be allocated to one of the following interactive group sessions based on their practice area:

  • Thursday 22 April 2027, 6pm -7.30pm
  • Tuesday 27 April 2027, 6pm -7.30pm
  • Tuesday 4 May 2027, 6pm -7.30pm
  • Thursday 10 June 2027, 6pm -7.30pm
  • Wednesday 7 July 2027, 6pm -7.30pm

NPs need to be available for all the above dates as we cannot guarantee specific allocations at this stage.

How to Book

Advocacy Course A & B

The cost of each Advocacy Course is £274.50. This includes accommodation and meals at the residential weekend.

 

Ethics Course

There is no additional charge for the Ethics Course for those undertaking the Advocacy Course. A £10.80 registration fee applies for all those only requiring the Ethics Course.

There are limited spaces on the course. Priority will be given to Inner Temple members and those in their final year of the NPP, or whose final year was 2026 or earlier.

 

Registration will open in December 2026.
