New to the Bar? You’re not alone...

The Young Barristers’ Committee (YBC) represents the interests of the Young Bar on the Bar Council of England & Wales. This covers all barristers from when they are called to the Bar and for their first seven years in practice.
As part of this role, we work and engage critically with the Bar Council’s other committees, the BSB, the Ministry of Justice, the Senior Judiciary, and the wider profession, to ensure that your voice is heard. We also aim to support your professional development, and help you to relax a little, through events such as:

  • Young Bar Sessions at the Annual Bar and Young Bar Conference
  • Young Bar Half Day Workshop ‘The Specialist Advocate’
  • Young Bar Dinner
  • International Weekend

If you’d like to find out more about the YBC, you can find a treasure trove of useful info on our website at www.youngbarhub.com. You can also check out www.wellbeingatthebar.org.uk for tips on how best to handle the stresses and strains of practice.
We look forward to welcoming you to the profession!
